Devotional Passages 3/16/18

Colossians 3:12-15 (HCSB)
Therefore, God’s chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive. Above all, put on love — the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful.

Proverbs 16:31-33 (HCSB)
Gray hair is a glorious crown; it is found in the way of righteousness. Patience is better than power, and controlling one’s temper, than capturing a city. The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.

Exodus 3:14 (HCSB)
God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM., This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”

James 1:16-18 (HCSB)
Don’t be deceived, my dearly loved brothers. Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights; with Him there is no variation or shadow cast by turning. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I call a bird of prey from the east, a man for My purpose from a far country.
Yes, I have spoken; so I will also bring it about. I have planned it; I will also do it.

Because God wanted to show His unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath, so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.
We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure.
