For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalms 139:13-14 (NIV)
Note from Kip…
The world would tell us that almost everything about us is wrong. We need to loose weight, we need to touch up that hair style, w don’t hang with the right people, and the car we drive just isn’t cool.
Thankfully the Psalmist puts this into the right perspective. God has created our inner mosts being; He wasn’t just responsible for tossing some DNA into a petri dish, dusting off His hands and saying “It is good”.
No, thankfully, he was and is intimately involved in our design, and construction from the least to the most important parts of us. Yes, even down to that DNA string that determines our genetic traits.
Knowing this and more importantly remembering it when we are faced with the accusations by the world that ‘you simply are not good enough’; provides us with a immunity to those barbs that would draw our spirit down to the level of the world.
God has a higher plan; a higher calling for each and everyone of us, to fulfill. He isn’t going to ‘inflict’ His plan on us. He gave us free will and He intends on abiding by that decision. If that were not the case then the fall of mankind would never have taken place in the Garden of Eden and our bodies would be perfect with out the corruption of sin to eat away at our earthly existence.
Next time the evil one tells you that you are not good enough, remind him of this verse in Psalms and tell him “You’re right; I’m more that good enough! I am perfect in accordance with God’s plan for my life!.
See just how long he hangs around.
May the Lord add to your numbers, both yours and your children’s.
Psalms 115:14 (HCSB)
For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.
John 3:17-18 (HCSB)
For He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight., In love He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will, to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved.
Ephesians 1:4-6 (HCSB)
“Because of your little faith,” He told them. “For I assure you: If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 17:20-21 (HCSB)
Don’t you know that the runners in a stadium all race, but only one receives the prize?
Run in such a way to win the prize. Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. However, they do it to receive a crown that will fade away, but we a crown that will never fade away.
Therefore I do not run like one who runs aimlessly or box like one beating the air. Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (HCSB)
Not that I have already reached the goal or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus.
Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14 (HCSB)
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21 (HCSB)
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die — ever. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25-26 (HCSB)
