When you can’t…
The morning began with a pounding headache. The kind that renders you next to worthless. Can’t focus, neurons are not firing, nor are they connecting in sequences that make any sense. I just can’t.
Note from Kip…
God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.
Psalms 46:1 (HCSB)
When things just are not working out, when the insurmountable looms in our path, when we can’t make sense of anything, because there is no reference point from which to determine your position, He is a help that is always within our grasp.
You don’t really need a point of reference when someone is providing you direction and guidance. Our Lord does that.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (HCSB)
We all find periods and situations where we are helpless in our own resources. Times where surmounting the tasks before us, is beyond our line of sight. Even times like this morning where enduring the next few minutes and hours seem like a bridge too far.
God doesn’t expect us to be able to take on all comers and bring Him the trophy of our success. No, instead He wants us to rely on Him as our strength, our point of reference, our guidance, and our counsel.
The solution to ‘what do I do now?’ does not have to come from our experience, knowledge, or savvy. It doesn’t because, not only is He willing to fill in the gap between our effort and His objectives for us. He desires to be the final push to the top, the last mile, and the finishing touch to our willingness to take those first steps in faith, knowing full well that we have the ultimate power of the universe at our beckon call.
While you are seeking God’s assistance, remember that He is faithful in all things and so long as we ask in accordance to His will, He will respond. Because we have this assurance, why don’t you go ahead and give Him the praise and glory for all that he will do to take our helpless condition and manifest His Glory through our meager offering.
Give thanks to Yahweh; call on His name; proclaim His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him; sing praise to Him; tell about all His wonderful works!
Honor His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek Yahweh rejoice. Search for the Lord and for His strength; seek His face always.
1 Chronicles 16:8-11 (HCSB)
When you can’t, He does! If we but entrust the outcome to Him.
