“As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.
John 15:9-10 (HCSB)
Note from Kip…
Into it. It is transitional in its very tone. We do so much with it. We are, ‘into it for ____ (fill in the blank). We are, ‘Getting into it’. We ‘look into it’. and sometimes we even, ‘fall into it’. Whatever ‘it’ is consumes our focus, hence we can, get, look, fall, delve, and even dance; into it. It seems to be where we are going and where we place priority and purpose.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21 (HCSB)
Jesus said that He was into the Father and the Father was ‘into’ Him. They obviously are ‘into’ each other. Jesus spoke of the necessity of us being into Him too.
If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples.
John 15:7-8 (HCSB)
Into Him so much that the verse just before this He tells us that with out being into Him we can do nothing worthwhile. You run across people that claim to be into life and living, but unless they experience life in Christ Jesus they have no idea what living is all about. There is nothing there that rings true to why we are here and what our very purpose is in the cosmos.
There is a modifier to being ‘into it’ which determines our level of commitment. Saying we are into it just indicates some level of interest and says nothing about what to expect from our actions.
On the other hand, if we are ‘Into it for the long haul!’ that reflects an entirely different attitude and focus. than simply ‘into it’. Something you pick up on from people who are excited about something is that they are ‘Really into it!’
I think we should be ‘Really into it!, for the Gospel of Jesus. We should be really into it for being and making disciples. We should be really into it to proclaim that Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Live.
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 14:6 (HCSB)
I really need to be ‘into Jesus’ because He is The Way. He is the truth; He literally embodies the truth! And He IS THE LIFE!
Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it.
John 1:4-5 (HCSB)
He is in the Father, the Father is in Him, we are to be in Him and He in us and Life itself is in Him and because we are into Him we have Life in us! This is really something important to be into. As a matter of fact, if your not ‘into it’ your are left out of it!
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.”
Acts 4:12 (HCSB)
Salvation itself is ‘in’ no one else. We can’t go anywhere else to find this Life or Salvation. It is only by being into Him that we find that He is into us and redeems us for His own. You see, because being into it for a believer means that we become a part of His body; the body of Christ Jesus.
I don’t believe there is an equivalent measure of commitment than this. We no longer are lost and alone. We are united with the one that gives life beyond this flesh and become part of Him and His body. This is because we ‘are’ His Church! Now this is something that I can get into!
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part.
1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (NLT)
I have some Brothers in the Lord at the office that sit near me. When I see them I am constantly reminded that we are all part of the same body. If you have gotten into exercise you have likely experience that euphoria that comes with a great workout. I would have to say that the same euphoria seems to be present when we are close to our Brothers and Sisters.
This serves as a constant reminder that being into Christ Jesus, results in us being in the body of the Savior! It reminds me each and every time there is contact. When pastor calls me on the phone, I know we are connected through Jesus because we share that moment in union as we fellowship together.
This is why it is so very critical that we assemble together as believers.
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)
You see, we are all into it, being a follower of Jesus Christ. If we aren’t, then we should be. And as we are into it we really need to define that level of commitment to ‘it’. Are we ‘really’ into it? Are we ‘kinda of’ into it? Are we into it for the long haul?
We need to wrap our arms around this because Jesus was and is into us. He’s into us for eternity. No holes barred, He wants every one of us to be in Him and He in us, now, and forever more.
Are you into it? What is your level of commitment to it? Is He in you? Are you in Him? Are we part of one body and into each other?
You decide. Are you into it?
